Paul Bennett – Director, Property & Casualty
Paul began his insurance career in 1978 at Continental Insurance Company, moving to Trinity Insurance Company in 1988, gaining vast experience as a Principal Property Underwriter before joining the Regional Management team in 1991.
In 1992, he joined St. Paul International Insurance as a Regional Underwriter. Following outstanding contribution, in 1996 he was promoted to Product Manager Multinational, establishing a department delivering National and International success. Paul was then promoted to Senior Manager for London Development in 2003 where he managed substantial premium and large account programmes.
Since 2006, Paul has worked closely with MGA’s, providing unique products within the Property & Casualty market.
Paul joined Oliva Underwriting as the Director responsible for Property, Casualty and Financial Lines in the London and Provincial markets when the company was established in May 2008.

Cliff Browne – Director, Engineering & Construction
Cliff has over 30 years experience in the Insurance Industry, beginning in 1978 at National Vulcan. He moved within the Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group where he held various Senior Management positions in the South and South East from 1993.
In 2003, Cliff joined BJP Insurance Brokers Limited (Focus Underwriting) as Operations Manager of this specialist Contractors Insurance MGA.
In 2005, he was promoted to National Business Development Manager for General Insurance and Wholesale markets. He formed part of a five-strong management team reporting directly to the Managing Director and was responsible for a team of Underwriters and key account management for the largest UK Broker partners.
Cliff joined Oliva Underwriting as the Director responsible for SME construction and engineering risks, when the company was established in May 2008.

John Glover – Director, Marine
John began his career in the marine cargo insurance Industry in 1980 at R E Heathcock, a specialist marine cargo and transit liability underwriting agency based in Manchester , moving to an-house insurance broker for a large UK shipping company in 1984 , gaining first hand experience of the issues affecting shipping companies, exporters and importers.
At the end of 1988, John joined Marsh as a marine cargo account executive and by 1997 had been promoted to Senior Vice President, with position of Practice Leader for UK Marine Cargo which involved looking after a team of people to achieve difficult targets, having responsibility for handling major multinational clients and having delegated underwriting authority for large Insurance Comapanies and Lloyd’s.
In 2005 John joined Cooper Gay to provide this growing international broker with a specialist marine cargo ability, developing business from the Cooper Gay international network and external sources and in early 2009, joined Talbot ( Lloyd’s syndicate ) as a Business Development Executive responsible for securing growth in line with the syndicate appetite.
John joined Oliva Underwriting as the Director responsible for Marine and will be underwriting marine cargo, goods in transit and marine stock throughput business backed by Lloyd’s security.
John is ACII qualified and an Associate Member of the Institute of Exporters.

Amy Gardener - Assistant Underwriter Property & Casualty
Amy has 7 years experience in the Insurance Industry. She started her career at HCC as a Underwriting Assistant at Lloyds specialising in liability.
In 2007 Amy moved to FSJ (then a division of Heath Lambert) within the Pharmaceuticals team developing pharmaceutical liability and clinical trial risks for both UK and International clients. Moved to Cooper Gay & Co Ltd when FSJ moved across in 2008 continuing in this field.
In 2009 she moved across to Oliva Underwriting Management Limited to assist with the development of the Property & Casualty Division

Jackie Longhurst – Underwriter Engineering & Construction
Jackie has 10 years experience in the Insurance Industry. She started her career at HSB Engineering Insurance Limited in 2000 as Sales Support in the London Branch, assisting the Sales Team with engineering quotation, administration and Broker queries, as well as dealing with incoming enquiries.
In 2005, due to her commitment and progress, Jackie was promoted to Senior Sales Support and the following year, became Senior Underwriting Assistant, where she gained further experience, being responsible for the junior team members’ quotations, new business and daily monitoring of tasks and targets.
Jackie also worked closely with the Branch Manager in the compilation of monthly reporting and statistics and gained excellent underwriting knowledge of various covers including Engineering Inspection, Erection All Risks, Contractors All Risks, Own Plant, Hired-in Plant, Computers, Sudden & Unforeseen Damage and Terrorism, then latterly Liability.
Jackie joined Oliva Underwriting as Underwriter when the company was established in 2008.
